Health Benefits of Green Tea

My Migraine Saga

I’ve been having daily migraines for 2 years now, they started off less frequent and less severe and got to the point of being daily, i switched to Decaf (coffee) and it helped for a while. Then one day, i started getting them daily again. I’ve had an MRI, nothing sinister only migraine activity (alhamdolillah) so, preventative and relief is all that can be done.

I lost my health insurance and so pharmaceutical preventative medication is out of the question – even if i did want to try that.

What’s next? Herbs and Homeopathics.

I decided to look for a herbal tea or supplement before moving on to homeopathic remedies (call me a hippy if you must – you won’t be the first)

I looked up herbs and found that Feverfew has been shown to have a positive affect on migraines. Lavender is also said to be good for migraine sufferers.

In the mean time

I decided i wanted to give up decaf, at 99.7% caffiene free, it wasn’t causing my migraines, but it still isn’t great for the health and it did make me feel a little groggy.

Enter Green Tea (with Mint)

I googled to see if it had any affect on migraines (positive or negative) and found that for some people, it helped relieve their migraines and for some it was a trigger. I decided to take it slow (with coffee, 1 cup is enough to give me a good 3 day migraine) -no migraine- i drank more -no migraine- i started having migraine free day after migraine free day, i started slowly losing weight, i started drinking the dreaded WATER (bleh) in healthy quantities, i started feeling better… i started falling in love, with Green Tea (sweetened with honey, a natural sweetner with great many health benefits of it’s own)
