title: International Womens Day (and a few updates)

Asalamualekom and Peace everyone.

Today is International Womens Day a global day of celebration of Women, many of whom across the globe are treated far less than their worth. Let’s take a moment today to ponder what it means to be a woman, a Muslim woman or whatever it is you identify with the most as a woman (comment here or on facebook and tell us what makes you a great woman!). Let’s take a moment to remember our sisters in humanity across the world who are facing hardship simply because they are women, and our daughters who do not live to be women or who do not live to know what beauty womanhood has in it.

We’ve chosen today to release a new project by Muslimas Oasis that is dear to my heart and should be to the hearts of all of us. The Marwa Self Esteem project, it’s small yet but it’s roots are deep and it’s intended reach is high, support and nurture it with us on facebook and share your seeds of wisdom and your food for thought on how we can grow it into something with a positive effect.

A quick note also, we’ve moved things around a teeny bit on the menu’s above so take a moment to familiarize yourself with the changes. What were “Columns” are now found under “Your Voices” and there is a new section for what will be posts and resources from our 2 budding projects.
