Jannah by Ammar AlShukry

When I first saw this video on facebook I absolutely adored it for so many reasons, so when Brother Belal Khan (Producer and Editor of the video) asked me to review it on the site, I was more than happy to oblige!

I enjoyed this video on many levels. The use of Typography (Font, Size, Color, Interaction between words) was brilliant and gave the message extra visual impact. The spoken word style of narration reminiscent of wildly popular, Boonaa. There is something about spoken word poetry that gives words and message extra power, how the narrator gives inflections and emphasis in just the right places, particular intonation and perfectly placed pauses. Similar to how Tajweed gives Qur’anic recitations extra depth, only a very crude version of that perfection.

Not least, the words and message. It’s a true heart softner, beautifully written and beautifully presented. I have no criticisms at all, mashaAllah!

Correction: I initially mentioned that brother Ammar had approached me to review the video, I later realized it was brother Belal and have edited the article to correct that. Jazak Allahu Khairun Belal.
