Coping with Anxiety – Printable Poster for Kids

This is a page that I created for Little Miss Sunshine herself. She suffers from anxiety and we have used coping techniques to help her deal with this anxiety. Her therapist created a “coping card” with her and I developed that original idea into this poster that lives on our wall in the dining room and in Madam’s bedroom.

Coping with anxiety

These coping tools, visual and verbal reminders and labeling of the feelings have been a huge help for Madam with coping with her anxiety, I hope through sharing this that it will help other children too inshaAllah (God willing). As a mother in Islam, I want to equip her with all the tools she needs to be successful in this life and the Hereafter.

Remember that this is equally as useful a tool for children who are not on the Autism Spectrum and do not suffer from anxiety, it is a general tool that can be used to help young kids gain control over their emotions and reactions.

Many kids work through anxiety, and we pray this poster will help many while they are coping with anxiety and overwhelming stress.

  2. Salam alaykum

Mashaallah I really like it :) It can be used when a child is just really angry and don't know how to express his feelings

    Jazak allahu kheyr for sharing

  3. Assalaamu Alaikum!

MashaAllah! What a lovely idea! I can see how it would work well for a young child struggling with their emotions. I think I may use this for Malia. 6-years-old seems to be a bit of a struggle for her, more so than the previous years. InshaAllah this continues to assist Madam and her therapist continues to have good ideas for her! InshaAllah khair.
